I absolutely detest paying $4. and Oh My God cents per gallon
of gas as much as you do.($4.17 a gallon of gas at the time of this writing).
However the question that no one seems to answer,
is why are people and government officials slamming
the big oil companies for the high price of gasoline?
Yes, in the last 2 years Exxon alone made $80 Billion profit,
but let's step back a minute and break down the price of a
gallon of gasoline and see what's really going on here.
79% of a gallon of gas is directly dictated by the open world oil market for Crude oil.
15% of a gallon of gas is imposed by state and government taxes.
Only 4% of a gallon of gas goes to the oil companies.
With that 4%, oil companies have to pay for the exploration of oil,
they have to drill for the oil,
They have to extract the oil,
Then bring the oil to refineries,
and finally deliver it to the gas stations.
That's a lot to have to go through to earn 4%.
Government does absolutely NOTHING to EARN their %15.
They simply have their hand in the mix because they are the government.
If big oil is making $80 Billion in profits on 4%, just imagine
how much GOVERNMENT makes with their 15%.
If you owned a business and were only taking %4 on your sales,
would you like a whole country and government breathing fire
down your neck telling you that you are guilty of excessive gouging?
The culprit isn't oil companies, or government for that matter...
It is people's dependance on fossil fuels in the first place.
People worldwide should collectively demand hydrogen, solar,
electric vehicles and technology development Immediately.
That is truly the only solution
